The story
Camp Tekoa sits in the mountains near Hendersonville, North Carolina. It's a place where kids and families come together for adventure, growth, and faith. Camp Tekoa asked us to produce a brand film and a commercial that would capture what makes the camp experience so meaningful, both for families who already love it and for those discovering it for the first time.
We travelled to Hendersonville to film on site during camp. Mountain light, lake water, and wooded trails gave us a natural backdrop full of warmth and movement. Just as important was being present for the real moments: laughter at the waterfront, quiet conversations around a campfire, and the confidence that comes from trying something new.
The brand film goes deeper. It includes voices from campers, counsellors, and staff, woven together with observational footage of camp life. We wanted parents to understand why this experience matters, from the friendships and independence to the faith that runs through everything. The camera stays close and unobtrusive, letting kids be kids.
The commercial distils that feeling into a short, energetic piece designed for enrolment and social media. It's bright and joyful, and it's built to help a family picture their own child there.
Filming at a camp takes a light touch. We kept our crew nimble and worked around the camp schedule, never the other way round, so campers' experiences came first. The result is footage that feels genuine because it is.
Camps, schools, churches, and youth organizations have some of the best stories to tell, and they deserve films that do them justice. Although we're based in Gastonia near Charlotte, we're glad to travel across the Carolinas for projects like this one.
